Connect LedgerLink to Claude or ChatGPT

Each person adds LedgerLink once, in their own AI account. It takes about two minutes.

Everyone uses the same link. Signing in is what decides which companies each person sees. Also on your dashboard.

Claude

Works on Pro, Max, Team and Enterprise plans. Set it up in Claude on the web or the desktop app.

On a Claude Team or Enterprise plan? An owner adds LedgerLink once under Organization settings → Connectors. Everyone else skips step 2 and just clicks Connect.

    Open Settings, then Connectors

    In Claude on the web or the desktop app, click your name at the bottom left, choose Settings, then Connectors.

    Add a custom connector

    Scroll to the bottom of the list and click Add custom connector. Name it LedgerLink, paste your link, and click Add. Leave Advanced settings empty.

    Connect and sign in

    Click Connect next to LedgerLink. A LedgerLink sign-in opens. Sign in with your work email and click Allow. You'll only see the companies your firm gave you.

    Turn it on in a chat

    In any chat, click + at the bottom left, open Connectors, and switch LedgerLink on. Then ask something like “Which of my clients can you see?”

ChatGPT

Custom apps run on ChatGPT on the web. Business, Enterprise and Edu plans can read and post. On Pro, OpenAI currently allows read-only use, so ChatGPT can look things up but not post to QuickBooks.

    Turn on developer mode

    In ChatGPT on the web, open Settings, then Apps, then Advanced settings, and switch on Developer mode. On a Business or Enterprise workspace, an admin may need to allow it first.

    Create the LedgerLink app

    Still in Settings → Apps, click Create. Enter the name LedgerLink, paste your link as the MCP server URL, and choose OAuth for authentication. Click Scan tools, then Create.

    Sign in to LedgerLink

    ChatGPT opens the LedgerLink sign-in. Sign in with your work email and click Allow.

    Use it in a chat

    Start a new chat and pick LedgerLink from the tools menu, or type @LedgerLink in your message. ChatGPT picks apps per message, so mention it again for follow-ups. It may ask you to confirm before posting anything to QuickBooks.
