QuickBooks MCP server
The QuickBooks Online MCP server built for firms with many clients
MCP (Model Context Protocol) is how Claude, ChatGPT and other AI assistants connect to outside software. LedgerLink is a hosted MCP server for QuickBooks Online that a whole bookkeeping or accounting firm can share: one connector reaches every client company you manage, each employee only reaches the companies you assign, and every posting is previewed and approved before it touches the books.
14 days free, no card needed. $15 per company a month after that.
What an MCP server does for QuickBooks
Without an MCP server, an AI assistant can only talk about accounting in general. With one, it can look at the actual books: open invoices, unpaid bills, the P&L for last month, a vendor's history. It can also enter work for you, like a bill from a PDF or a batch of journal entries.
Most QuickBooks MCP servers you'll find are built for a single business: one company, one login, one person. That works for an owner. It doesn't work for a firm with 40 clients and six staff, where the questions are which client, who is allowed, and who approved this.
What LedgerLink adds on top of QuickBooks
- One connector for every client company. Staff name the client in the chat; the AI never guesses which books to use.
- Per-employee access. Tick the companies each person can reach, and whether they can post or only read. Remove someone and their link stops working at once.
- Preview and approve. Every bill, invoice, payment or journal entry comes back as a preview table first. Nothing is recorded until the person says yes, and that rule is enforced by our server, not left to the AI.
- Signed postings. Each transaction carries a private note with who asked for it and why, so reviewers can trace it inside QuickBooks.
- Activity log. Every lookup and posting, by person and by company, in one place.
- Month-end review (early access). A 31-point close checklist run against QuickBooks for each client, so only the items that need a person show up.
What the AI can do through LedgerLink
LedgerLink exposes 38 QuickBooks tools to your AI assistant. Reads include searches with QuickBooks query language, single records, every standard report (P&L, balance sheet, A/R and A/P aging, and more), PDFs of invoices and estimates, company settings, and a books health check.
Writes cover the everyday work of a bookkeeping firm: bills, bill payments, invoices, sales receipts, payments received, deposits, transfers, expenses, journal entries, credit memos, vendor credits, refunds, estimates, purchase orders, customers, vendors and products. It can also update, void or delete records, attach files, send documents and manage recurring transactions, always with the same preview-and-approve step.

Questions
- What is a QuickBooks MCP server?
- It's a service that lets AI assistants such as Claude and ChatGPT read and write QuickBooks Online data through the Model Context Protocol. LedgerLink is a hosted one built for accounting firms that manage many QuickBooks companies.
- Do I need to install or host anything?
- No. LedgerLink is hosted. You add one URL as a connector in Claude or ChatGPT and sign in. There's nothing to run on your computer and no API keys to manage.
- Can one connector reach more than one QuickBooks company?
- Yes. That's the main reason LedgerLink exists. Every company your firm connects sits behind the same connector, and each employee only reaches the ones you assign.
- Can the AI post transactions without my approval?
- No. Every write returns a preview first and is only recorded after the person confirms. Firms can optionally let very small postings go straight through, and every posting is logged and signed either way.
